I realized I had to lift my thought above the appearance of loss and rest in the understanding of myself as the reflection of the one omnipresent, omnipotent Mind. As I sat there, humbly and trustingly leaning on Truth, I suddenly became aware that I was staring at the keys, hanging on the handlebars of a tricycle on the front porch.
They had been there all the time!
The sense of loss, impelled by fear, is like a veil or mist, and is removed from human consciousness by realizing the truth. The realization of eternal facts is the scientific prayer that overturns and removes the mortal beliefs that obscure the view of completeness and perfection. Scientific prayer does not ask God to give us the good that is already ours, but brings us the spiritual understanding that opens our eyes to see the good that is always at hand. When Elisha and his servant were surrounded by a multitude of enemies, the prophet did not pray to God to remove them. He prayed that his servant might see the presence and omnipotence of God.
Eddy says, "To divest thought of false trusts and material evidences in order that the spiritual facts of being may appear,—this is the great attainment by means of which we shall sweep away the false and give place to the true. The healing fact is the truth that God and man are inseparable. Christ Jesus taught and lived this truth.

He said of his mission, "The Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. This spiritual view of man still heals the sinning, the sick, and the deprived, proving that man can never be separated from the divine qualities. Man is not lost in sin. The false beliefs of hatred, lust, envy, greed, and revenge hang like a heavy mist over the mind of the sinner until he is lifted above this false sense by Christ, Truth, to see and embody the real man, pure and holy in God's image.
We need not for a moment be held under the bondage of belief in sickness. Health is a quality of God, Spirit, not of matter. It is man's by reflection and cannot be lost for an instant. The darkness of false belief has no power to remain in the consciousness illumined by the light of Truth. Health cannot remain hidden or lost in the presence of the Christ.
One who is laboring under the sense of grief for the loss of a loved one can be released from this suffering sense. None of the qualities and ideas included in man can ever die or be lost. They are as ever present as God, the source of all. Our realization of this truth opens the eyes of our understanding, and the mists of grief, loneliness, and despair disappear, revealing man as whole, harmonious, and loved.
Companionship with spiritual ideas is never lost, and the understanding of this fact brings right companionship into our present human experience. Likewise, opportunities can never be lost. Man is always at the standpoint of opportunity. It is false belief, focusing attention on the mistakes of the past or on the uncertainties of the future, that obscures the infinite potential of the present moment.
By trusting God, knowing that He has provided only good for His creation, we can rest assured in His love. The false sense of loss that would blind us to our present perfection as God's ideas is dispersed like mist before the presence and power of Truth and Love. Eddy says, "Wholly apart from this mortal dream, this illusion and delusion of sense, Christian Science comes to reveal man as God's image, His idea, coexistent with Him—God giving all and man having all that God gives.
In the realization of this truth we can demonstrate that nothing is ever lost. We hope you enjoy the content that has been shared with you.
